Patriot High School Band and Colorguard
About Us

The Patriot High School Band and Colorguard is in it's fourth year of existence.  Before Patriot ,the community was served by Rubidoux High School and the Rubidoux Delta Alliance Corps.  After Patriot was built Rubidoux and Patriot combined campuses while Rubidoux High School was undergoing renovations.  When both campuses were completed the two schools seperated.

The Patriot Cardinal Regiment is the band, drumline, and colorguard at Patriot High School.  Each fall the PCR performs at football games, field tournaments, parades, and community performances.  In the spring Patriot offers it's students the opportunity to perform in wind ensemble, winterguard, winter drumline, basketball band, and chamber ensembles.  Patriot prides itself on offering it's students the best possible arts education from some of the best teachers and instructors available.  Each year many students go on to play music in college, drum and bugle corps, and many other places.

The Patriot Band Boosters were created in 2008 with the goal of helping to support our groups with the tools and finances necessary to be successful.  The booster club is an active participant in our program and every parent/guardian is encouraged to be a part of it.

The Patriot Cardinal Regiment is a 501(3)c non-profit organization. Companies that want to sponsor the band, new uniforms or instruments are welcomed. Please contact us. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

Winter Drumline-Winter drumline auditions will be held in early December for all students involved in the fall program.  Students involved in the drumline for the marching band will have to reaudition for a spot in the winter drumline.  All percusion students involved in winter drumline must also fulfill their obligations to perform with the concert  band.  Students who miss concert band rehearsal or are not prepared for concert band music may be asked to not participate in teh winter drumline.

Winter Colorguard-Auditions for this group will occur in December.  The winterguard performs their own routine seperate than anything the band or drumline does.

Pep Band-This is a small group of students which plays at basketball games as well as recruitment trips and community/school events.  The group consists of 2 tubas, 4 baritones, 2 mellophones, 4 trumpets, 4 saxophones, and 1 set drummer.  The group is picked by Mr. Moreno based on attendance, playing ability, and knowledge of the music from the fall.

Latin Jazz-The Latin Jazz Band is a group of 8-10 students that rehearse 1-2 days after school beginning in January.  The group is audition only and only takes 1 trumpet, 1 trombone, 1 sax, 1 piano, 1 bass, and 4 percussionists.   Students who do not get a spot in the group may still come to rehearsals to observe in order to receive instruction on the material covered.

Chamber Ensembles- There are typically 2-3 student run small chamber ensembles.  Past groups have included brass ensemble, woodwind ensemble, sax ensemble,  and clarinet ensemble.  There are no auditions required, but students must organize their own ensemble and find a rehearsal time with Mr. Moreno.
